Birthday Giveaway '10
It is that time again: time for my birthday giveaway. I love that my birthday giveaway has become a minor tradition. For my last 3 birthdays (2007, 2008, 2009), I have been happy to celebrate by doing a giveaway on my blog. And this year is no exception to that trend.

ReplyDeleteHaha...I messed up. :( They should let you edit your comments on Blogger!
ReplyDeleteWow! It's your birthday and you give away things? How awesome are you?!!? I'm so entering! :)
I have a birthday coming up in the semi-near future, and lately I've been craving Spanish food. I think if I could conjure it here from Spain, I'd have an amazing paella mixta (that's light on seafood because I'm not overly fond of it) and a Tortilla espanola. And some Sangria.
Yum. Now I might have to just make myself some of that. It never comes out the same though.
So anyone who reads this can see, here's paella:

and a Spanish tortilla:

(and, my mistake was, I'm Dreamy Jamie! or, you know, suenosdejmi on Ravelry. :D )
For my birthday this year I had...well, wine, mostly. Seriously, I started off with good intentions, but then the guys who were helping me move made me play beer pong with them, but I don't drink beer, so it turned into Wine Pong, and then I know I ate something later in the day, because I went out to dinner with my friend Jennie and her fiance, but...I don't have any recollection of what that might have been. Nachos? Actually, nachos are a great birthday food, because they are endlessly shareable.
ReplyDeleteSuch a tough question! My favorite birthday dinner would have to be my dad's (not so) famous chicken and cheesy pasta, with his chocolate and butterscotch chip cookies for dessert! I usually miss home around my birthday, so I always crave dad's cookin'!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday meal has to be home cooked traditional meal - rice, roti and a spicy curry. End the meal with home baked cake and a dollop of ice cream. Yum! My birthday is like ages away. Sigh.

Very Hippo Birdy Two Ewe ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday meal is:
Shrimp
Pasta
Any type of vegies - Asparagus or Artichoke are especially good
Diet Coke or ice tea with lemon and sweetener
Raspberry Chocolate Cheesecake with extra raspberries
<3
Su
Sea-Jelly
Spaghetti and meatballs! No, really. It's even better if there's garlic bread, a nice green salad, and something tiramisu-like for dessert, but really the most important part is spaghetti and meatballs. Yum.
ReplyDeleteCheesecake starting with breakfast, but dinner has to be a huge slab of roast beef over potatoes, carrots and mushrooms. Then more cheesecake :)
ReplyDeleteI can't just pick one meal... my best birthday has to have an awesome breakfast and dinner.
ReplyDeleteMy best bd breakfast is yogurt with cereal and mangos and peaches. Yum! (okay, I know that sounds boring... but I'm a sucker for fresh fruit)
And my favorite birthday dinner is roast lamb. I'm not particular about side dishes :)

Happy Birthday one day late.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...if I could have any birthday meal it would be mussels gathered on the beach on the Island eaten sitting on a driftwood log looking at the ocean with a seaweed salad on the side. Of course, on my actual midwinter birthday that would be rather frosty.
I hope you had a great day.
It would have to be followed by a heaping pile of my cholesterol pills but... I'd like a Triple Bacon Cheeseburger, with lots of onions and mushrooms sauted in butter, and extra mayo. a side of Mom's Mac & Cheese with with Chopped Ham, some Deviled Peppeoni Eggs, and a Chocolate Shake. It's been years since I've had any of these things! Can I have a Linguica pizza too? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Happy Birthday to you, and thanks for the giveaway.
For my birthday, I like beer. For food, I usually end up with Thai (pad thai or curry) or the local Celtic pub (best stews and cornbeef in town).
