My Kind of Cowl

Sometimes you end up with a random skein in your stash that is lovely, but does not have immediate plan. That is what this skein of Malabrigo Rasta was like for me. I had originally purchased it sort of impulse to help support this LYS that is a friend's home shop.

Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Rasta in 96 Sunset

Yarn Supplier: Circle of Stitches

Pattern: My Kind of Town Cowl by Trish Woodson

Super soft, squish yarn knit in a squishy garter stitch makes a really warm, cozy knit. And the bulky weight of the Rasta makes this a super quick knit as well. Since the garter ridges end up being vertical when worn, this looks a lot like a turtleneck when tucked into a jacket or other layer. Cute!

Sock Recap: Blue and Gold

A pair of socks that I had knit my dear Majes recently developed a sort of random hole in the cuff that suggested it got snagged on something. By the time they made it back to me, it had gotten to be a bit of a structural concern, so I ended up ripping out the cuff and knitting them up from the leg and finishing with a sewn bind off to make sure they were still stretchy enough.

This pair of socks was this lovely navy and gold yarn, which I couldn't remember the handdyer off the top of my head, but I was sure would seem obvious to me when I looked back at them in the blog and/or Ravelry... Only then I discovered apparently I have never blogged these anywhere. Opps!

Hinterland

I have become completely infatuated with both Spincycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool and colorwork sweaters. Expect this trend to continue.

Yarn: Spincycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool in Family Jewels & Berroco Ultra Wool Fine in Sour Cherry

Needles: US 4 - 3.5 mm & US 6 - 4.0 mm

Pattern: Hinterland by Jennifer Steingass

I don't think the colors in the yoke could have worked out  any better than I did. I absolutely love how they came out.

Just about my only annoyance is in the cuffs. I don't think that I love the rolled hem at the bottom of the cuffs, but for now it is good enough. I suspect I will end up ripping them back out to add ribbing at some point though.
